Know the rules. The EPA's Renovation, Repair, plus Painting (RRP) Rule requires lead-safe work practices on pre-1978 homes. Professionals must be EPA-certified. Homeowners working on their own homes are exempt from certification but should still follow lead-safe practices to protect their families.
